Prof. Ph.D., scientist
Vlatka Zoldoš is a professor of Genetics and Epigenetics at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science and Scientific Director for Epigenetics in Genos, Croatia. Her Laboratory is a part of the National Centre of Research Excellence in Personalised Healthcare. With her research team, she is pioneering the field of CRISPR/dCas9 epigenetic editing. In 2016, she was the first who design and publish the dCas9-DNMT3A molecular tool for targeted DNA methylation. Using these state-of-the-art CRISPR/dCas9-based molecular tools her research team is trying to understand the crosstalk between the main epigenetic mechanisms in the regulation of gene expression, including the epigenetic regulation of the glycan clock of ageing. Her publications are cited over 2,000 times.
