Marko Mance M.D. Ph.D. was born in Mississauga, Canada, on October 5, 1985, where he resided continuously and completed his primary and secondary education. Spending school holidays in Croatia sparked his love for the country and led him to decide to pursue his studies there. He became a regular student at the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb in 2003. During his studies, he was an active member of the student association (CROMSIC) and participated in numerous student congresses, scientific research projects, and activities. He was the recipient of the Dean's and Rector's awards in 2009.

Following his studies, he completed his internship at University Hospital Centre Zagreb. In February 2011, he passed the state exam. His first professional experience as a medical doctor was gained in July and August 2011 as an employee of the Dubrovnik Health Centre, working as a physician in a tourist clinic on the island of Mljet, and he returned to the same clinic in 2012. From January to July 2012 and from April 2013 to July 2014, he worked as a general practitioner physician at the Ministry of Justice (Remetinec Prison in Zagreb). From July 2014 to October 2019, he underwent residency at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery, Clinic for Surgery, University Hospital Centre Zagreb. During his specialization, he participated in various scientific research projects and local courses. He passed the specialist exam in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery in October 2019.

He undertook international education in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Nairobi, Kenya, Toronto, Canada, Goethe-Universität Klinikum in Frankfurt, Germany, University of Oxford, England, Milan, Italy, and Gentofte Hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark. He attended numerous foreign and domestic conferences and courses in the field of plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery, actively participating through presentations, posters, hands-on workshops, and as a passive listener. He successfully defended his university master's thesis titled "Changes in total body surface area and the distribution of skin surfaces in relation to body mass index" and his PhD dissertation titled "Correlation of Size, Location, and Histological Characteristics of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with Breast Thermographic Characteristics.". Since 2022, he has been a scientific collaborator at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb. He has co-authored 18 scientific papers in indexed journals, with 6 as the first author.
